Who we are
The Krav Maga Association of Canada was first established in 2008 by Co-founders Edward Wood and Steve McCulloch, along with assistance support by Ernie Kirk of Premier Martial Arts International (Our American affiliate). Their mission was to modernize and add to traditional, dated Krav Maga curriculums. This modernization was completed in an effort to properly meet the needs of today’s students.
NOTHING was ever taken away from these traditional Krav Maga curriculums, KMAC simply took things one step further. Through careful examination of the most effective self defense techniques available, KMAC has sought to ADD to the system, in order to better meet the needs of the students we teach. This mission for growth is what led to the association’s motto,
“Modern World Self Defense”
This is exactly what we teach; “modern world self defense”. KMAC has borrowed from the very best of other effective Martial Arts such as but not limited to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai to name a few. The end result is a superior curriculum that produces more well-rounded students and instructors
Since 2008 the Association has experience rapid growth. KMAC has expanded our community not only to Krav Maga professionals but we have welcomed in consulting associates such as P.J O’sullivan of Pura BJJ and the world renowned leader of Muay Thai instruction, Ajahn Suchart of SiamNo1.
Working together with respected industry leaders, we have developed 2 main course that are offered to 2 specific groups of individuals
1) The KMAC Curriculum that is taught to our students
2) The KMAC Instructor Certification program that is offered to aspiring instructors who would like to either seek employment at one of our active locations OR become an affiliate school of the Krav Maga Association of Canada.
The courses we offer are of the highest of standards. Individuals are closely monitored by KMC expert level Instructors as they work their way through our program. Please see our course outline page to learn more about training standards and the overall certification process.
