FAQ’s
1) I have noticed a number of Krav Maga certifying organizations outside of Canada. Are organizations in places like the United states or even Israel more legit than the Krav Maga Association of Canada?
The answer to this question is a simple, NO!
Each certifying organization can confidently trace their original lineage back to Krav Maga founder Imi Lichtenfeld. KMAC can also trace to this lineage as our training originally came from organizations of this traditional lineage but we are teaching a modernized version of the traditional system. Please keep in mind that Krav Maga as a self defense system is less than 100 years old! Imi created the system during a time of war for civilians to defend themselves so that “one may walk in peace” as his motto goes. KMAC’s motto is “Modern World Self Defense” our system has embraced other forms of Martial Arts to enhance the system that we teach. We strive to cater to the individuals we teach. We are teaching people who live civilian lives, people in Law enforcement, private security and we also teach military personnel. Our modern system caters to people from all walks of life. The KMAC system is an effective, simple and to the point. It can taught to individuals living in an urban city centre or an established military officer. Each certifying organization is a bit different in what they offer. KMAC is every bit legit as older, more established organizations who may have not modernized themselves to meet the needs of today’s student.
2) What do I get as an official KMAC affiliate?
You get A LOT! Upon your completion of the KMAC Instructor Level 1 course, you are certified and approved to teach beginner Krav Maga at your host location. As a KMAC affiliate you will have use of the trademark logo, access to the full KMAC curriculum, as well as an “Official training Centre” sign and certificate that serves as your license and proof of accreditation. You will have full access to our ongoing support systems at any time you may require our assistance. KMAC will monitor and work with you long after you graduate our course. Again, it cannot be stated enough that we offer a complex, progressional apprentice program. Much like a tradesmen going to university. You take the course, you learn on the job and you take more courses until you can be considered an industry expect. This is our system in it’s entirety. We are NOT a 1-off weekend course. All of this is included in a very affordable affiliation fee that is to be paid annually with a variety of payment plans and payment methods available to you.
3) How much does the course cost?
2016 rates for our 2 day courses is $300 per participant. That is a very generous price at only $150 per day. Each Participant will be responsible for their own meals and accommodations. One must also factor in that you can easily drive to KMAC National Headquarters, rather than expensive plan tickets and fees to attend certification courses outside of Canada. KMAC was established with this in mind. We were created to be Canada’s Krav Maga certifying organization. Our goal is to grow Krav Maga within Canada. We want to see Canada be formally recognized as a world leader in Krav Maga training and quality Krav Maga instruction.
